About GMS

GMS Battle of the Books

Congratulations to the fourth grade team, the “Flaming Eyeballs” (Brenden and Caden Bohmer, Ben Babczak, and Hayden Zuza), who placed first in our Fall Battle of the Books with a score of 90/100. The 20 questions were harder than ever, and the competition was tough! Congratulations to the second place team are also in order. The fifth-grade team, the “Rainbow Birds” (Keeley Sebold, Alyssa Krueger, Zoey Papka, and Angelina Failing), came into the Final Battle with the only perfect record from the first two preliminary battles. Their Final Battle score was 85/100.

The Rainbow Birds

Finally, congratulations to all fourth- and fifth-grade students who participated in this reading competition.  The many, many successful teams had to organize themselves, continuously communicate with team members,  follow through on their commitments, read SO carefully, and then stay cool and collected in the two preliminary battles.  What a battle!! We’re proud of all of you.

Many thanks to Cindy Rentas who organized this promotion and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
