Grizzly eNews 4-12-24

Principal’s Message:

Staff and students were in awe as they viewed the solar eclipse this week among their classmates. Thanks again to our PTO for funding the purchase of glasses for every student and staff member. Students will get to learn more about stars and space at an upcoming assembly later this month.  We have invited in a mobile planetarium for all students to experience during their specials time on April 25th.

This is the time of year when I remind parents to send me an email if they would like to share more about their child as a learner.  This is not necessary by any means, but there are unique situations when it is important for me to hear from you about your child’s social-emotional or academic needs.  Although I cannot accommodate direct requests for teachers or friends, I can utilize your input to best match your child with their classroom teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.   I ask that all emails be sent to me by May 1st so your feedback can be our first consideration as we start to build classes for next year.

I hope to see you out at the Chicago Steel game tonight!

Along with fun science, music, art, and field games, we will also welcome Bill Cho’s United Taekwondo and SoleUnique Dance Company to Outdoor Education Day.

Backpack Mail

BPS101 often receives requests from community organizations to distribute informational fliers to students in their backpacks. In an effort to be environmentally conscientious, we use an electronic format to deliver this information, which we call “Backpack Mail.”
